Mourne Grange Craft Shop is a hidden treasure just on the outskirts of Kilkeel. As you arrive at the entrance, you are greeted by a selection of plants, herbs and seasonal vegetables, all grown organically in our Garden and Flower workshops (depending on season and availability). The farm provides potatoes picked from our own fields, which are for sale most of the year.
Inside the shop, there is a wonderful range of craft products made by and with our residents in the various craft workshops in the Community. It gives our customers a glimpse into the range of skills and creativity that each person is encouraged to develop. The display changes seasonally and the residents are very proud to be able to display and sell their hand-work. The products include rugs, oven-gloves, bags and cushions from the weaving workshop; clocks, boards and foot-stools from the woodwork shop; a variety of large and small candles hand-dipped in the candle workshop, batik wall-hangings from our Arts and Crafts Studio and also seasonal crafts from both the Flower workshop and the Garden team. We are very excited about opening a small pottery. This is still in the early stage of development, but we are looking forward to having some new products on display soon!
Alongside the crafts produced in Mourne Grange, we also sell a variety of fairtrade handcrafts in keeping with our ethos of promoting dignified work for people of all abilities and backgrounds and supporting hand-crafts worldwide. These include silver jewellery, household items, gift ideas, toys and cards.
If you’re looking for some locally produced hand-crafts, organic garden produce, seasonal decorations, interesting and unique gifts, ethical wrapping ideas, please call in and see what we have to offer. We will be delighted to meet you, and to tell about the great range of products available in our shop.
